Safeguarding Support Officer EPA (New)
This occupation is found in a range of public, private, and voluntary sector organisations to support statutory safeguarding responsibilities to be fulfilled and demonstrate how organisations work to protect an individual’s health, wellbeing and human rights; enabling individuals to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.
What is the EPA for Safeguarding Support Officer Level 3
There are two assessment methods for Safeguarding Support Officer Level 3 EPA:
- Presentation with questions
- Professional Discussion, underpinned by portfolio
Advance EPA helps providers prepare their apprentices for the Safeguarding Support Officer EPA. We’ll give examples of the type of activity that would be suitable for the Presentation. This assessment method lasts 45 minutes, including a 25 minute presentation, followed by 20 minutes of questions between apprentice and assessor.
The Professional Discussion takes place online, by video call. This EPA component is a discussion between the apprentice and the same assessor who observed their presentation activity. The assessor will lead the discussion, guiding the apprentice to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours shown in the assessment plan. The professional discussion will last 60 minutes.
