What is the EPA for Lead Practitioner in Adult Care Level 4

Lead Practitioner in Adult Care Level 4 EPA has 2 assessment methods:

  1. Observation of Practice
  2. Professional Discussion

The Observation of Practice involves one of Advance EPA’s assessors observing the apprentice as they carry out their usual work practice. This will last for one hour, and is followed by 15 minutes of questions between the apprentice and assessor, allowing the apprentice to demonstrate any skills not shown in the observation.

The Professional Discussion takes place online, by video call. This EPA component is a discussion between the apprentice and the same assessor who observed their practice. The assessor will lead the discussion, giving the apprentice opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and behaviours. The professional discussion will last 90 minutes.
